I guess it depends on what type of vehicle you want/need.


I would definitely be hesitant to put a an engine in for that price since this is a known issue. That being said, $7,500 to get 50k miles (if you think you can get that out of it) is not terrible, especially given the car market.

But new car prices are not terrible for less popular models, if you're flexible and willing to not be too picky about what it is. Non-luxury sedans especially, are not the hottest sellers. Something like a Camry, or something from Hyundai/Kia can be had for what appears to be fairly reasonable costs.

If you want a CUV or truck...nothing reasonable about those prices, new or used.
