He accepted full responsibility for the Panama lineup. He deserves the

criticism for sure. But this is the most unique WC qualifying ever. Fixtures placed in threes only a few days apart. Players with COVID. Players not being able to travel to Code Red/Level 4 countries because they have to quarantine when they get back to their club. And of course, we've had some big injuries. The starting XI against Panama was flat out wrong, but perhaps he was hoping for a point and sacrificed the lineup to keep players rested for Costa Rica.

In the long run, it may not hurt us. And maybe it shed some light on who shouldn't be starting in the future. So hopefully, he has learned from it. But part of the blame is on the players in that game. They did not play well individually or as a team other than Zimmerman and Turner.
