Is this a precedent-setting deal?

This deal essentially brings us to the point where the university itself is entering into a co-branding agreement with the players and splitting the money. I realize it’s probably technically set up so that the players are dealing with a third party. But that’s just a creative structuring of what is a deal with the university.

It’s a new world when universities themselves generate money through selling stuff and split it with players. Not saying it’s wrong or unpermitted but just taking things further.
