Sousa had entered the game in the bottom of the 7th, an inning earlier. I don't know much about him, but the commentators said he has a good arm.

In any event, his throw was quite accurate (about 2-3 feet from the plate), but the 2 bounces slowed it down. I think that the commentator said that Sousa had been playing Albies very shallow in RF. (As I understood the remark, Sousa was well positioned to make the play.) And Sousa charged the ball hard and got rid of it in a hurry.

Rosario made a great slide to avoid Smith's tag and managed to touch home with his left hand, making it hard on Smith.

(Parenthetically, I am always amazed by the smarts and the body control of some base stealers and base runners. Some of them even give a fake target [a hand or leg] and then withdraw it at the last moment and touch the base with the other hand or leg.)
