Glad to see that Taylor got his QO. I said below he wouldn't and glad I was


wrong... I have a few friends in the industry and they said that LA likely wouldn't offer because they see Taylor as a "super utility" and should hit a contract between 3-5 years at $12-15 million per year (more years, lower AAV). They want the draft pick for him if he signs elsewhere, but were also thinking he'd take the QO for a bigger one year pay day then go back into FA. They wouldn't be able to QO again. So the question was, do they possibly overpay him for one year on the chance they get a pick?? Looks like they decided yes. I think when CT shops around he isn't going to find 20+ a year. If he gets something close to the QO (say 16.5 up) for more years he takes it. If he is in the 12-15 range, he takes the one year then signs the 12-15 contract next winter.
