I read an interesting article on this sort of thing


It wasn't about this particular event, but it was about the economics of popular music and how the money-making side has shifted to live performance from the sale of music. As I'm sure you know, in my day, live concerts sold albums. Nowadays, recorded music sells live performances.

Anyway, this article was saying that, as the economics have shifted, many performing artists are taking more and more control of their concerts in order to avoid paying organizers/promoters. I don't know if that was the case, here, but I would suspect such a thing is possible, if not likely.

I suspect much will come out in discovery.
