To 71wahoo re Hopkins: She didn't have a good game -- at least the last 60

minutes, which is all that I saw. That said, she came closer to scoring than any other Hoo. There were 2 long passes on the right side into space behind BYU's D. On 1 occasion, Hopkins was ahead of the BYU defender, but the defender beat her to the ball. On the other occasion, it was a 50-50 ball & the defender beat her to the ball. Hopkins is a technically skilled player, but she is not fast.

Parenthetically, we REALLY missed Rebecca Jarrett tonight, who is the fastest Hoo and the fastest player that I've seen in college soccer in the past 2-3 years. BYU would never have been able to play such a high (defensive) line against the Hoos if Rebecca had been playing tonight. Unfortunately, injuries are key factors in post-season runs. On the other hand, we had plenty of time to make adjustment's for Rebecca's absence, as she was hurt early in the season. That said, speed is the one thing that you can't replicate, so I am not being critical of Swanson.
