I had a rental car fairly recently. It was a brand new Ford Explorer.

We were forced to get it for a couple of weeks after the wife bounced her minivan of something again. She LOVED driving the ford but anytime I drove it I felt like there was something wrong. I felt like it was always trying to "pull" away from my intended direction of travel. I figured it had bad alignment or something but no car that new should have that sort of trouble (unless my wife hit a curb or ran into a ditch or something.....not out of the realm of possibilities). I called the ford dealer and explained my problem and they said "did you turn off the lane adjustment" or whatever they called it. I said I had not and that I was unaware the car was equipped with this stupid feature. Low and behold....I figured out how to turn it off and no more "pulling" and I enjoyed the vehicle much more.

I really do not need help steering my car and this extra "feature" actually made me think something was wrong with the vehicle. I don't know what Im going to do when the becomes standard on all cars. Certainly takes a bit of the "soul" out of driving....and anyone that actually NEEDS this or similar feature should probably not be driving anyway.
