Honestly how many more years do you expect to need a “family” car?

You are about to have two kids out of the house. The number of times I rode with my family on a family trip after 2nd year of college can probably be counted on one hand. Your kids are going to be driving their own vehicles to family vacations, holidays, etc within the next year or so.

If you keep vehicles a long time, try really hard to think about what it’s use will look like in 3, 5, 7 years because your kids are not riding with you any by that point. You and you wife will probably be spending substantially more time on the road just the two of you to visit your kids rather than them riding anywhere with you. Think about that and the other reasons for the vehicle - towing, travel with dogs, camping, tailgating, etc - think about what you will actually use it for.

Is a truck better, a large sedan, a crossover? Maybe small SUV is still the best. Maybe best to get something older for your daughter and have your wife keep her car another year or so. You sound like you are done needing a family vehicle, so don’t buy a new car for that purpose.
