Within the Tuckahoe creek sewar district, yes, and surprisingly in the
...middle of the county out by the courthouse yes. Those places have water and sewer, the rest of the county does not. With no water and sewer, you can only densely pack so much.....so yes there is some growth, but it can only get so bad because the water districts have boundaries around them and everyone else needs well and septic (which requires land). The water districts cannot grow outside of current boundaries without major county legislation.
Keeping the public water and sewer limited to certain geographic areas is a beautiful thing. Keeps the county growth in check. I expect as soon as Henrico exhausts every inch of road front on 250 west, it will continue into Goochland (Centerville), but it will stop there (because of the water and sewer issue).
I'm on 4 acres, and it takes me about 10-12 minutes to get to Short Pump. You'd never know based on where I live, that I'd be within 10 minutes of 10 different grocery stores.
