Technically doable but (inside)
To later add a bigger hard drive would involve opening up the laptop, removing the old hard drive and installing a new hard drive - technically doable but they don't make it easy with laptops - worst case things are soldered down - best case just many screws but then you also have to reinstall windows onto the new hard drive. You could also take it to a shop to do but labor alone might be ~1/3 of the price of the laptop.
Another option (if space becomes an issue) use an external thumb drive to give you more space - much much slower than the laptop's hard drive and then you'd have to 2 drives so file management to keep some files on C: / D:. This approach would NOT require you to reinstall Windows.
