Badosa and Sakkari are clearly better players.


And other players have had much better grand slam results than Kontaveit: Coco was in finals at Roland Garros, Collins was in final at Aussie Open, Raducanu won the USOpen.

If you asked the players on tour to list the best players, Kontaveit would not be in the top ten. I know that the points are earned, but the criteria is off.

Looking at the majors, compare Kontaveit and Pegula:

French 2022: Kontaveit lost in first round and Pegula made quarters.

Aussie Open 2022: Kontaveit lost in second round and Pegula made quarters.

USOpen 2021: Kontaveit lost in third round and Pegula lost in third round.

Wimbledon 2021: Kontaveit lost in first round and Pegula lost in second round.

If I was Pegula, I would be wondering how I was ranked behind someone that I have been out-performing for the last year.
