I see that every so often in high school games

Most recently, it was third and goal from the 8. Offense runs dive and defense stops it pretty quickly, except it was actually naked. Whistle blows with the QB at the 4 with no one between him and the end zone. The refs huddle and award the TD. Offense was mad about the inadvertent whistle that took away a TD then the defense couldn't believe it when the refs just awarded a TD to the offense but the QB didn't cross the goal line until after the whistle.
