It’s not one play, it’s not one iffy call that did it.

Their FOGO was a little better & their wing play was much better yesterday. And having one of our wings get banged up & needing to leave the game really made that relative weakness a glaring weakness.

And when we did get a stop, when we did get the ball late in the game, we had five empty possessions in the last 5 minutes.

The face off but don’t get off thing was a maddening self inflicted wound all year. We lost at home to Duke because of that, which cost us a #1 seed & that really hurt considering the drop off from the top 3 teams to the 4th was huge this year. I mean, it was the gift of the decade to only play Delaware, Michigan & Penn State to get to Memorial Day. Yesterday we paid the tax bill for not adapting/changing from the hero ball strategy. And it was clearly a very bad strategy we refused to stop trying to make work the entire season.

There’s nothing more our defense could’ve done in the second half. We held them scoreless for over 15 minutes.

There was nothing wrong with Schutz going for it after a nice roll to the goal mouth. He cans that & it’s game over even with the faceoffs being a net loss for us yesterday.

Overall just a soul crushing end to a season & what should have been a championship team. We have a lot to look forward to in 2024. Lots of talent & also guys with huge chips in their shoulders to finish the job.
