Good for him, but very unusual that neither parent passed on the sport.

The hardest part about learning tennis is that you need someone to hit balls with and usually it is a parent. That is how I learned from my dad and how I taught both of my kids to play. We all played at the 4.5 level at our peaks, but I am now a low 4.0, but still get out there for doubles and play USTA league tennis, which is the best thing that ever happened for the recreational player.
Hopefully you now play. as It is a great game especially as you get older. I had a stroke last July and it set my tennis and golf games back quite a bit, but I live normally otherwise, which does not always happen., I am slowly getting better and have lost about 20 pounds which I really needed to do.
