I still don't like the poster rating based on up/down votes

Prior to this board overhaul and your explanation of how up/down votes should be used, I think most folks understandably down-voted a post just because it did not agree with their view, not that the poster was being a jerk. I.E. the voting was used a quick agree/disagree tool, not an evaluation of the poster himself. In fact, I expect that it is still being used by most folks as an agree/disagree tool. So if you want a lot of stars, never post a critical or controversial comment and make all your posts about non-controversial praise of UVA athletics, making this a Pollyanna forum.
