An excellent beginnning...

You have to give the staff a lot of credit now that we see how the season is unfolding. There plan was a good one: to put his best 3 arms as starters and not work Haseley too hard early in the season, with Haseley coming in later as his #2 starter and Doyle to the rubber-arm closer role with a strikeout pitch. It's going to take a lot good evaluating of each pitcher on a given day to get us to championship-caliber, where only 2 have really qualified themselves as starters and 1 as a closer, with Shambor on the rise, and Doherty and Bettinger holding their own. We need at least 1 more arm, probably Rosenberger or Lynch if he's healthy, out of the rest as/if we enter the NCAA postseason. It's going to be a tight window once again, but I'm hoping that warmer weather and getting past final exams will allow the firstyears to fill out their roles on a championship-caliber team in a month or so. Notice the improvements with the change in the pitching staff and the move from playing 4 firstyears to 2.
