I think this is correct.

Marial Shayok is a junior. Generally speaking, the most improvement for college basketball players happens between their 1st and 2nd years. Marial has had some very good nights but also some where he was just not there offensively.

Defense keeps Marial on the court. I was watching him closely last night and when he was guarding someone, they just didn't score. Defense will keep getting Shayok minutes but as far as suddenly becoming an offensive stud, I don't see that in the cards with the exception of games here and there.

For anyone who wants to point out how players keep developing under CTB, yes, they do but not as offensive standouts. Jack Salt may be an exception but he had so few offensive skills coming in that any improvement stands out and we take notice.
