1-AA is a money loser, but I'm thinking more prospectively
Does football become a money maker for Ivy schools when there is new marketing revenue from their efforts to televise and sell upscale ad space? Could a reconstituted 1-AA that includes some very good non-P5 programs ever become a money maker, with a legit playoff system? I haven't seen that data.
I don't disagree with your perspective that this is probably just an incremental move. I guess I'm just wondering if the sanctimony of the 1960s has any limits, at least weighed against the potential windfall in dollars and prestige of the modern game.
