Have you been to Hartsfield before? A quick summary

There are three pick-up locations:

Domestic Terminal RED -- this is basically Delta and is its own side of the domestic terminal

Domestic Terminal BLUE -- this is basically everything else domestic

International Terminal -- this is a separate building at a separate exit on the interstate, and represents the security side for international flights (but anyone can exit here in theory)

All of the gates, domestic and international, are connected by a train system. It goes in this order: Baggage Claim Domestic
T Gates
A Gates
B Gates
C Gates
D Gates
E Gates
F Gates (International Terminal)/Baggage Claim International

The baggage claim stops are also the exits for pick-up, ground transportation, rental car, etc.

So if you know what gate your boss is coming into and what airline, you can tell him to take the train to whichever relevant baggage claim/exit.

The parking decks across from departure/arrival are multi-level, and so are the roads to pick up passengers. As Georgia Hoo noted, the lower level is usually an easier place to pick people up, as the top level (street level) is usually a nasty swarm.

Just tell your boss to take the escalator down from the baggage claim area and meet you there. You can then pull your car up to past the curbside check-in kiosks, which will be the doors for arrivals.

It can take anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes from touching down to actually taxiing, disembarking, taking the train, and getting your bag at the claim area. So the best thing to do is to be near the airport and have your boss text you when he touches down, and then time it to be pulling into the pick-up area at the right moment. There are satellite lots where you can sit and wait for a call as well, if you don't want to do the "drive around the loop four times until you nail the timing" thing. Security will not let you just sit there waiting to pick someone up.

Hope that helps.
