Your top 5 meals in Charlottesville- Comfort food and beyond...

I'm looking to "expand my horizons". I'll give you my top 5 and hopefully you'll give me yours. Unless you plan on cooking for me, I'm hoping your top 5 can be purchased locally.

1) The Shack ( Sandwich) from Ivy Provissions. Fried Chicken, Bacon and Pimento Cheese!!! Need I say more. It is simply a redonk sammich

2) The Rockfish - A staple special at Maya. It's unreal how tasty this dish is. I've never had a bad meal at Maya. They are so consistent.

3) Porchetta Panuozzi- Lampo- The most flavorful Porchetta I've eaten was at Salumi in Seattle. Lampo is right up there with their Porchetta dish.

4) Three peppers with beef on hot iron plate- Peter Chang. Holy hot and numbing nuts. This is phenomenal. It's hot but not crucifying hot. It's just a killer dish. Add Crispy Pork Belly appetizer for fun.

5) Gnocchi Salad from Fry's Spring Station. Simply delicious. Fry's springs goes against my "You ain't got much parking, you ain't got my business" mantra.

The Taragon Salad from Roots. I'd be a vegetarian if I could eat and produce this everyday

Martin's Grill. Way better than the Skeezey place that Riverside has become. Oh Riverside how I once love you, like 10 years ago. I love watching my meat get smoked at Martin's. Anyhow, Their burgers are cheap and great!

Bagels/Cheese and Lox at Bodo's. I think this will be my after-the-cville10miler meal.

Biscuits and Gravy at Ace's Biscuits and BBQ. I love their biscuits but always forget about these guys.
