It's not a lack of faith at all.

It's a critique of an in game situation. He could have brought in Harrington earlier, and if he's not ready then you stall. Yea, you are going to your bullpen early which stinks, but once again, it was evident that Sperling didn't have it. Coach chose to be passive in this situation and it burned him. This rarely ever happens and I'm not saying that I know more than Oak or anything like that. Based on what I saw from Sperling, I would have pulled him. Maybe coach wants Sperling in pressure situations early in the season to learn from them, I don't know. But I do know that bringing in Harrington would have given us a better chance to get out of the inning than an inaccurate Sperling in that moment.
