I've heard 2 explanations

A.) A lot of contractors in the area have been here forever. They have already lined up a lot of wealthy clients through the years, so newbies simply "have to wait."

B.) Like a lot of things about the area, things haven't caught up to the on-ground conditions. The area's been growing pretty consistently for 15 years. But there really hasn't been a sufficient increase in the number of contractors for various services to match the population increase.
