Both those kids were INSANELY talented

Unfortunately they both had absolute dogs*** attitudes. I talked with Shamel in between the regular season and ACC Tournament meetings with Duke that year, and he essentially told me the coming game didn't matter because they were going to make the tournament regardless. In a way, he was right, but goodness gracious dude, have some pride. How as a UVa lacrosse player could you NOT get fired up to play Duke after they ended your season in heartbreaking fashion the year before and straight up embarrassed you the week before? That ended up being the last game he played at UVa (1 goal on 5 shots, 3 turnovers, 0 ground balls).

Ghitelman was right there with them for a little while but at least the early season suspension convinced him to get his head on straight. Shame the other Long Islanders never learned the lesson.
