It wasn't a steal.


Per the MLB official scorer guidelines, a steal must be "unaided by a hit, a putout, an error, a force-out, a fielder’s choice, a passed ball, a wild pitch or a balk." So, advancing a base by tagging up after a flyout is not a steal, ergo the runner is not caught stealing if he is thrown out doing so.

Since two outs took place on one play, IMO the scorer got it right by calling it a "DP." However, Zimm was not credited (or debited, perhaps) with a GIDP, so if this was an official game, it would not have counted as his fault for the double play.
