So...who all got to watch Artie's start?

It looked to me like he pitched to the scouting report that KC had on him: likes to ride high with his fastball, then buries the deuce.

Unfortunately for him yesterday, those were MLB hitters, not AAA guys on the cusp. Artie left a lot of stuff too up and/or caught too much of the plate...and KC was all over a lot of it.

It looked like his fastball had more life when he kept it down, which was encouraging. His offspeed stuff certainly looked good/effective when he drove those pitches down.

It wasn't a jaw-dropping debut, but I think there were ample things to build off of. I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses...
