So the Nats clinched the NL East earlier this week and the Dodgers clinched a playoff spot yesterday. There will be many more clinchings over the next few weeks, and we will hear about all of them.
Except for one, which occurred last night, as a result of Minnesota pasting San Diego 16-0. That game marked the 151st victory by an AL team over an NL team in interleague play and assured the AL that it would win the season interleague series between the two leagues. The current record is 151-135, with 14 more interleague games remaining to be played.
This marks the 14th consecutive year that the AL has won the interleague series. The NL last won more interleague games in 2003.
