I disagree. We're missing out on 3 or 4 years of legitimate player

development by players playing in college. Most of our players from 18 to 22 are only playing 3 months a year. The rest of the world has their players playing year round at that age. Frankly, college soccer either needs to go to a 9 month schedule or US Soccer needs to start pushing really hard for there to be some sort of 18 to 22 year old league for these players to go to that might not make it to MLS right away. My recommendation would be simple. MLS needs to allocate enough money to each team to field MLS 2 teams. Those teams then play each other instead of USL teams that dont have the money to pay high level players. Once you get to 21 you either get picked up by a full pro team or cycle out. If we aren't going to get relegation then we have to find other ways to put these younger players under as much pressure as possible.
