I should have mentioned Maloney as a factor on the 2nd midfield line.

He has played well. While I agree that there are many possibilities, my concern about the 2nd line is that nobody has really stood out.

I don't see Herring as a true candidate for the top three attack spots. Lars wants his best scorers out there, and Herring is not an excellent scorer. But he's valuable, especially on man-up where his excellent passing skill is extremely useful. I'm pretty sure Kraus will be the lead feeder (as well as a top scorer) of the top three. So if he gets hurt, Herring is the most logical replacement.

I agree Greco could be a factor for close-d depth.
He looks more athletic than I remember and his stick skills have improved. But I have Reilly ahead of him.

I too hope there will be surprises in the "spring," aka January. Lars will be having skill sessions (small groups) working over the winter and I'm sure he expects to make additional progress during that period.
