It should be enamel coated - so likely burnt food/staining

I believe all Le Creuset iron skillets are enameled coated. Thus, there should be almost no chance of it rusting. My guess is that you just have some staining and possibly burnt food on it.

I would not be concerned.

Most of the comments I see here are for uncoated iron. An enameled coated iron shouldn't require any seasoning, oil, etc.
