Re: Posted below that GG's grad rates and academic performance are poor.

NCAA publishes graduation success rates (GSR), which are rates based on a look back six years from the date each class enters a program. You can go search the GSRs on the NCAA's web page.

In the most recent rankings, UVA men's soccer's GSR is 56%, meaning 56% of the entering players in 2009 (the entering class under study) got a degree from ANY college in six years. (If a kid transfers and finishes elsewhere, the school gets credit). Out of 202 men's soccer schools there are 6 worse. And, it is the worst sport on that metric at UVA. In that year, basketball was second worst at 70% (with a much smaller entering class and therefore higher potential for distorting the %). UVA women's soccer was 95% and 7 UVA sports were at 100%.

For the class that entered in 2008, UVA's men's soccer GSR is 40%, which was second worst out of 202 D1 soccer schools.

For the class entering in 2007, the UVA's men's soccer GSR was 50%, and for the class entering in 2006 it was 65%.

Surprised Littlepage did not put the program on notice. Maybe he did. Before people start claiming it is a function of kids going pro, that does not make much sense because plenty of schools send kids pro and many schools have men's soccer teams that are 100%. The first priority should be education on any D1 athletic team, especially a non-revenue sport.
