Yes it has, and that has saved a lot of bacon here in C-Ville. That said,

most every other school in our conference has been taking that additional annual revenue, increasing their football revenue, and reinvesting the surplus into their athletics programs. Especially football, which sets up each school to grow that revenue engine as the TV money flattens out and widens their competitive advantage against schools like us that haven't been investing at nearly the same level. Not just the ACC, but all the P5s have overhauled their TV/digital deals, with the B10 and the SEC bringing in more per school than we are.

At UVA, our overall athletics department spending has certainly caught up with the TV revenue, so the question for the new AD is, where will the revenue growth come from that will be required to retain successful coaches, maintain existing facilities, build new facilities, enhance fan experiences, etc.? Especially if finding deep pockets to support sorely needed football projects is proving very difficult?
