I would say acquiring talent by breaking the rules to acquire talent

is similar to cheating on the field.

Jim Bowden skimming money from players wasn't cheating the game's rules to acquire talent, it was good ol' fashioned stealing to make money.

I think the line where I say MLB must come down hard is when you cheat to get a competitive advantage versus cheating to steal some money.

And I agree with your punishment for everyone- which maybe they are investigating? In that scenario, would you advise MLB to hold off on punishing the Braves until they've completed a league-wide investigation? I say hand out punishments as it comes along...
