You're describing "sales" not marketing. The latter is much more expansive

than "selling tickets" and corporate sponsorship.

Marketing, for example, involves stagecraft - how do we present the game day experience. That's an easy item to address because we are almost universally pathetic at that across all sports.

Marketing, for example, involves branding - like not letting every major media outlet use an orange on white logo that completely washes out on TV and monitors. Was looking at CBS's hoops ranking page yesterday and our logo was virtually invisible on the page out of the 20 or so I could see without scrolling. That's marketing 100 for goodness sake. Professor Lindgren would have ripped our group for that.

Marketing is doing what can be done OFF the court to create a better game day atmosphere.
