I never collected to make $$$$$ - when I was collecting as a kid
you went to card shows and bought stuff at card shops. Now there is an active market for signatures and memorabilia that signatures are not always worth that much. When you go meet some of ex or current players, you will see that person sign 200-300 autographs before the fans get their chance for a signature.
I was at a memorabilia store a month ago, and they had two 85 bears NFL helmets from the SB team. One didn't have Walter Peyton and the other had - difference is retail price was $3000!!!
I know Jordan signatures are hard to come by - I see a lot of Jordan, Pippen, Rodman pictures in these stores and MJ is the only one that has his signature missing.
