Barry Booker

Notes: Barry Booker played as a 6-3, 240-pound linebacker/fullback as a junior, but he added two inches and 15 pounds between his junior and senior years, making him destined for the defensive line as a senior. He was an all-Seminole District linebacker as a sophomore and the Seminole District Basketball Player of the Year as a junior, so he is a multi-talented athlete who can really shine at the college level.

Former Amherst coach Mickey Crouch told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that Booker has All-American potential, but that he must dedicate himself to the weight room and work harder. Booker is projected as a defensive lineman, with the potential to play tackle or end. His first shot at Virginia Tech will be as a defensive end, according to the Hokie coaches. Named first-team all-state Group AA at the defensive end position as a senior.
