Notes: Fontel Mines is tall and fast, with a 40 time reported anywhere from 4.4 to 4.6. As a junior, he had 29 catches for 512 yards and 10 touchdowns as a wide receiver and four INT's as a safety. Hermitage Head Coach Patrick Kane considers Mines to be "a combination of receivers David Terrell and Billy McMullen. He's not as fast as Terrell (4.3 40) though, but he has the hands of McMullen."

As a senior, Mines earned Group AAA first-team All-State honors as well as first-team All-Richmond Metro honors at the wide receiver positon. He caught 35 passes for 624 yards and eight touchdowns in his final season.
