As a junior last season, Tucker averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Coach Leitao's comments: "Jamil Tucker is a wonderful kid who's been through a lot in his recruiting process. His coach, John Boyd, really believed in what we're trying to do. At 6-9, he'll be able to play almost like Jason [Cain] does. You can play him as a power forward, but he has a lot of perimeter skills. He probably has one of the better shooting touches for a big guy that I've seen in a while, so we'll be able to use him in different ways - face up and 15, 17 feet post-ups. He's athletic enough and he another guy with a body that can put on a lot of weight. I think he'll have a fine career here."
