Latimer excelled in football and in track at DeMatha Catholic. He ran the 100 meters and the 4X1 relay for the Stags.

Latimer earned first-team all-WCAC honors as a specialist for his senior season performance. He started at safety as a junior, also seeing action at wide receiver. He performed very well on special teams, too, averaging 25 yards per punt return his junior season.
