Matt Goff

  • Punter
  • Class of 2006
  • Fairfax, VA (Robinson)
  • 6-2, 180 lbs
  • Status: Uncommitted
Notes: In 2004, Goff broke the single season yards-per-punt average with a 40.5 yards-per-punt average. The previous record was held by former Notre Dame punter Joey Hildbold, who started for the Irish for four-year.

Coach Mark Bendorf: ”Our quarterback, Matt Goff, is also a very good kicker and punter. He had a great year for us at quarterback. He threw for 1500 yards and rushed for 500. He’s actually 29-1 as a starter for us on three levels, so he doesn’t lose much either which is a good thing from your quarterback position. He’s tall at 6-2.

“I’m certain he’s going to be looked at as a kicker/punter. There’s no doubt in my mind whatsoever in that regard. In terms of a quarterback, I think he’s also going to draw some interest there too.”
