Sam Wheeler

Notes: Wheeler was a dual-sport star for Blacksburg, playing both football and basketball. He is versatile enough to play linebacker or defensive end on the next level. As a junior, Wheeler tallied 103 tackles from his inside linebacker position. As a senior, was ranked #30 in the state in 2004 by TSL and #33 by the Roanoke Times. Prepped at Hargrave for a year after graduating high school.

High School Coach Crist: "Sam is a naturally talented athlete. He picks things up very easily and has improved every season for us. There hasn't been any peak points in his ability...he just keeps getting better."
