Notes: Vince Redd is a linebacker/tight end prospect who projects as a defensive end in college. He is one of the top players in the country at his position. He hails from Elizabethton High School, the alma mater of VT receiver Shawn Witten and Shawn's brother Jason Witten, a UT Vol tight end. Redd was Class 4A All-State as a junior and is a gifted basketball player, as well, though football appears to be his future. He has said he wants to play both sports in college, and he doesn't intend to redshirt as a freshman. Vince attended the Tom Lemming photo shoot on May 5th, 2002 in Blacksburg, and he is one of Lemming's preseason Top 100 players. As a senior, Vince Redd made a 104 tackles and scored seven touchdowns in a variety of ways. He caught three TDs, returned two fumbles for TDs and also scored on a kickoff return and an interception return.

Redd, who played linebacker all throughout high school, is being recruited to play inside linebacker by Virginia.
