Yesterday, UVa assistant coaches Bob Price and Anthony Poindexter made their way to Harrisburg, PA, to visit with one of UVa’s top remaining targets in 6-1, 185-pound running back Mikell Simpson . Yesterday’s meeting gave Simpson a chance to talk to Coach Poindexter, who would be his position coach, a little bit more.
“Last night was good because I got to talk to Coach Poindexter a lot more,” Simpson said. “He was telling me what it would be like if I were to choose UVa. He was telling me how they would use me and how I could replace Pearman. He said that, if I go there, then I can expect to get playing time real early. He said they need a back like me that is fast and can catch the ball.”
Simpson discussed what he likes about Coach Poindexter.
“He’s one of the coolest coaches I’ve met,” Simpson said of Poindexter. “I enjoy talking to him. He’s younger, so he understands the process and he can relate to what I’m going through. I like how he does things.”
