One of the top defensive line prospects in the state for the 2006 class, 6-3, 285-pound Daryl Robertson is a solid prospect who combines good size and strength with pretty good athleticism. He played defensive tackle and offensive guard for Liberty High School (Bedford, VA) last season and did very well, earning all-district honors at offensive guard and defensive tackle. He also was named to the Roanoke Times all-Timesland team and earned all-region honors at offensive guard.

Schools are primarily recruiting him to play defensive line on the next level. He currently has scholarship offers from Maryland and Virginia Tech and is receiving heavy interest from UVa.

“He really came into his own as a defensive tackle last year after making the move from nose guard,” Liberty head coach Chris Watt s said. “He also played offensive guard for us for the first time and played very well. He works real hard in the weight room. His bench right now is about 320. His squat is about 405. His clean is right around 280.”
