Wright Weighs Options

Marshall, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, N.C. State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia are among the schools that have officially offered 6-2, 215-pound Phoebus (Hampton, VA) linebacker prospect Matt Wright . Virginia Tech is one of the most recent offers for Wright, whose brother D.J. plays football for the Hokies. What did Matt think of the VT offer?

“I knew it was going to happen, but I didn’t know it was going to happen so fast,” Wright said. “When I talked to coach Cavanaugh, he told me how slow the recruiting process was so I didn’t think it would happen so fast. But, when it happened, I was excited about it.”

Wright has taken visits to Virginia and Virginia Tech. What schools does he want to visit this summer?

“Schools I haven’t been to,” Wright said. “I want to go see N.C. State. I’m very interested in them. I’ve been to UNC already, but I’m thinking of making another trip there. I want to take a trip to Maryland because I’ve never been there before. I’m thinking about making another trip up to UVa, but I’m not sure about that yet.”
