Malvern Prep (Malvern, PA) star cornerback/wide receiver Trey Womack made his official visit to the University of Virginia this past weekend. The visit was his third to Virginia, as he has visited twice unofficially already. The experience appears to have gone extremely well for both parties.
“To me, this visit was like ‘wow’,” Womack said. “It was so much fun. Basically, the players knew me and that made it a different type of visit. It wasn’t like I was meeting people for the first time – it was like visiting my second home. It went really well. That’s how visits should be.”
Womack, who is being recruited as a defensive back, was hosted by Virginia sophomore safety Nate Lyles . He had met Lyles on the two previous occasions the two have gotten along well. He spent time with many more players as well and really enjoyed his time.
“My host was Nate Lyles , but I was out there with everybody,” Womack said. “It was fun hanging out with Kevin Bradley , Tony Franklin, Kevin Ogletree , Mike Brown, Marques Hagans, Ahmad Brooks , Vince Redd and like two other linemen. I hung out with Fontel Mines a little bit and met Mikell Simpson . [Mikell is] from Pennsylvania, so it was cool talking to someone from the same state. They pretty much all knew who I was. I didn’t feel like a recruit. I felt more like a part of the team.”
Womack also met with head coach Al Groh. Did Groh try and get Womack to commit?
“Not really,” Womack said. “He asked if I had a time frame and I said right after my last visit. I’m going to schedule some more visits soon. I want to try to
