"/sabreincludes/realMedia/box.html"); ?>Last weekend, Virginia picked up a verbal commitment from 6-2, 185-pound Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA) standout Ras-I Dowling. TheSabre.com caught up with the outstanding athlete to talk about his decision, what position he expects to play at Virginia and more.

Dowling had visited Virginia before on an unofficial capacity, but made his official visit last weekend. He admitted he was thinking about a possible verbal to UVa beforehand and the experience solidified his decision.

“I liked the environment up there,” Dowling said. “They have real good people. And, I can get a good education while I’m there. I just liked visiting the campus and hanging out with the guys.”

“I’m done and I plan to sign with Virginia,” Dowling said. “I’m just going to work out hard before I get there.”

Dowling’s primary recruiter is Bob Price, who has landed three other commitments so far in the 2006 recruiting class.
