Watch out for 6’2″ rising junior guard Andre Jones

As always, the Boo Williams squad was one of the most talented teams in the Southern Invitational field and, although they fell to eventual champ Chicago Jaguars in the semifinals, they promise to be a force in the AAU tourneys to come. UVa is targeting a handful of recruits from the Boo Williams team, including a top guard and several power forwards.

Headlining Boo Williams’ squad are guard Mike Scott.

Wright, a 6-1 guard out of St. John’s College School in Washington, D.C., is already one of the most highly regarded players in the 2007 class. As a junior this past season, he averaged 22 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and two steals per game. A 5-star prospect by Rivals.com, a 4-star prospect by Scout.com and a two-time Washington Post all-metro selection, Wright currently has offers from Clemson, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Villanova, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.

According to the Charlottesville Daily Progress, Wright is interested in UVa. He originally committed to N.C. State but has reopened his recruitment after Herb Sendek departed for Arizona State. He is not expected to make a decision anytime soon and seems to be going through the decision making process slowly.
