10 Things I Learned Against N.C. State

1. I love being wrong. Really, I don’t mind being wrong. I am used to it. I am married. I live in a constant state of being wrong. And I was wrong about this weekend. (So was Greg – Mr. 5 for 9 – but who’s counting? I am sure that Kris isn’t, being the nice guy that he is.)

Looking at the match-ups, I had some big concerns about this game. NCSU’s interior DL against our interior OL did not give me the warm and fuzzies. NCSU’s punt block unit versus Ryan Weigand ‘s pace. NCSU’s defensive speed versus our favorite run plays. Andre Brown and Toney Baker versus the speed of our defensive front seven.

But I should have had Kris’ faith. On Saturday, UVa’s staff did a good job in minimizing State’s advantages. On the flip side, I thought Chuck Amato and his staff put together a mediocre game plan and did a lousy job of making adjustments with the offense.
