Glennon is up to four offers
Westfield (Chantilly, VA) quarterback Mike Glennon has seen his recruitment heat up over the past few weeks. Heading into February, the 6-6, 195-pound signal caller, brother of current Virginia Tech sophomore Sean Glennon , had received only one scholarship offer. Now, he has four.
“I’ve been to a few junior days recently and received some offers,” Glennon said. “Virginia Tech offered me the next day after signing day. I didn’t go to a junior day there, but they did offer me. I went to a junior day at Maryland and Coach Friedgen told me there that he still wanted to review more of my tape but that they were still considering offering. They offered a couple days later. I went to a junior day at Duke and they offered.”
Prior to the February success, Glennon’s only offer was from the University of Virginia. Charlottesville will be his next junior day stop.
“This Saturday, I’m going to Virginia. The following week, I’m going to N.C. State for a junior day,” Glennon said. “I know [the N.C. State coaches] are real interested. When they were at BC, they were saying they were real interested in me. They haven’t said if they would offer, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.”
Asked his reaction to the offer from Virginia Tech, Glennon replied, “I was hoping I’d get it because it would be a great opportunity to be able to play with my brother. That would be kind of like a dream come true. It would be a great opportunity.”
That being said, Virginia Tech is the favorite…right?
“I don’t consider Tech a favorite. I’m going to do the best thing for me,” Glennon said. “I’m definitely open to anybody right now.”
Sean Glennon made his verbal commitment the August before his senior season. The younger Glennon may wait longer than that to make his.
